Brazil will host the 18th International Congress on Toxoplasmosis

Toxo Meeting 18

For the first time, Brazil will host the International Congress on Toxoplasmosis – Toxo Meeting 18. This globally recognized event in the field will bring together leading international researchers from top worldwide institutions, integrating knowledge from the most basic aspects of the parasite biology to innovative genomic engineering techniques, the conference will also discuss clinical aspects related to the disease, as well as its epidemiology and control strategies — making a significant contribution to advances in public health and translational science.

The congress offers not only outstanding scientific presentations but also a stimulating environment for interdisciplinary discussions and international networking opportunities. In addition, pre-meeting workshops will focus on bioinformatics and environmental aspects of the disease, as well as the experience of the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS) in tracking and treating the infection.

Target Audience

The congress is designed for everyone involved with Toxoplasma research and clinical management, in academic, industry and health sectors — from students to professionals, from research institutions, Universities, to public or private health organizations.

History of Previous Editions

Since the late 1980s, the international meetings known as ‘Toxo Meetings’ have served as the main scientific forum for advancing knowledge on Toxoplasma gondii. Held biennially and typically alternating between Europe and the United States, these congresses bring together experts in biology, clinical research, and public health, fostering technical exchange and the development of collaborative networks. Each edition is organized by local committees affiliated with academic institutions, supported by international scientific committees, and designed to encourage and mentor young researchers.
